Ausgrid HV Joint Bays
Upgrades to underground cabling related to Ausgrid’s Alexandria Substation required construction of new HV joint pits. The location close the Alexandria Canal and historical soil contamination in the area meant that ground water seepage pumped from excavations had to be treated prior to discharge. The location also meant that there was limited space for equipment so a compact solution was required. Enviss worked with the contractor Garde Services to dewater the pit excavations using an Enviss Container Filter system. Both groundwater and rainwater seepage were treated to a high quality by removing sediment, heavy metals and neutralising the pH. Overnight operation of the system allowed the contractor to begin work immediately in the morning.
